The young red fox finds shelter in a dry hollow stump of a woodland tree.Having made himself comfortable, he lays down content and looks out. The mating season is not too far away. His lustrous fur shimmers touched by the warmth of the soft morning light. What an enchanting moment! I wanted to capture this in my painting and reveal the natural beauty of this fox as he sits basking in the warmth of the sun. It is very rare to see this in nature as the red fox is a very shy creature and quite elusive to us despite its large population. I hope this painting brings you as much warmth as it did for me while painting it.
